Vanessa Renee Veracruz

         Vanessa Renee VeraCruz, age 62, passed away July 7, 2024 in Columbus, OH. Vanessa graduated from Montgomery High School in San Diego, CA in 1979 and moved to Dayton, OH in 2000. Vanessa is survived by her three children Jennifer Nicole Vaughn, James Nicholas Atchison, and Jamie Adele Campbell. Grandchildren Christian Blaze Campbell and Caden Ace Campbell. Sister Tami “Bunky” Morrison, niece Chelsea Ramos, and nephews Vincent Morrison and Antonio “T-Bone” Valenzuela III. Vanessa was proud of her children and often said they were her greatest accomplishment in life. Vanessa will be remembered as a mother, sister, best friend, and aunt who loved animals, the ocean, and for her creative and fun-loving spirit. Vanessa’s legacy of love will continue to inspire those she loved with memories, adventures, laughter, hugs, heartfelt texts, and affectionate nicknames holding a special place in their hearts. In memory of her free spirit, Vanessa will be laid to rest at sea in San Diego, CA for the ocean to carry her away in peace and eternal love.   Arrangements entrusted to SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio 614-444-1463
