Thomas Anthony Stewart

Thomas Anthony Stewart, age 69, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on August 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and relentless dedication to both his career and family. He led a life characterized by hard work, loyalty and generosity to those he loved.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Tom retired after dedicating 25 years to the State of Ohio, ultimately attaining the role of HVAC Supervisor. He was a meticulous perfectionist, dedicated to ensuring that every task he undertook was executed flawlessly. He was respected for his vast knowledge as a master of numerous trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automotive, carpentry, and more. He was a great teacher, always eager to share his knowledge to develop others. Tom was a selfless individual who always went above and beyond to ensure the comfort and safety of others. He volunteered his time to assist the elderly and others in need, often providing his services at no cost. His contributions, both professional and personal, left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Tom's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. A pillar of strength, he provided endless support and guidance, all while embracing the mantra, 'God got me,' which guided him with unwavering faith. His warm smile, generous spirit, and compassionate heart touched everyone who knew him. He gave selflessly, with boundless generosity, from the kindness of his heart. Tom had a great sense of humor and loved to surprise people, always finding joy in making others smile. 

Tom was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Stewart; Mother Allene (Blackenberry) Ceasor; Father Willie Ceasor; Father Harold Stewart; Maternal Grandparents Robert and Faith Blackenberry; Paternal Grandparents Clarence and Alberta Stewart; Uncle Richard Blackenberry; and his best friend that was like a brother Harold Twyman.

Tom is survived by his son Tony Stewart, Daughter-in-law Tabetha Stewart and grandchildren Kiara, Kenneth Jr., and Kenzie; Daughter Jennifer Stewart and grandchildren Myah, Carter, Michael, and Larryelle; Son Thomas Stewart (Rachel) and grandson Roshaun; Sister Carol Lee and Niece Antonia; Sister Julie Akin and Nieces Tiffany and Whitney; Sister Theresa (Bob) Hamer; Sister Bernadette (Donald) Runnels; Brother Richard Stewart; Sister Celeste Stewart; Sister Carla Stewart; Aunt Juliette Blackenberry and cousins Glenna, Robin, Courtney and Juliet; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and bonus family members.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tom's life at a service to be held on August 30, 2024 at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. The repass will follow at the same location directly after the service.

Tom will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts and memories. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. “There’s honor in such a well lived life… there’s healing in remembering… there’s hope in knowing love goes on forever.”
