Tamika Tayanna “Tiki” Baytops
June 14, 1974 – September 6, 2025
Tamika Tayanna Baytops, affectionately known as “Tiki,” transitioned peacefully from earth to eternity on September 6, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born June 14, 1974, in Newark, New Jersey, she was the eldest daughter of Marilyn A. Baytops and the late Russell T. Baytops.
Tamika was a master stylist for 31 years, celebrated for her “Signature Short Cuts,” which were featured nationally in shows and magazines. She was also known for her love of cooking, inspired by her late grandmother Elder Bertha Mae White.
A woman of strong faith, Tamika accepted Christ at an early age, serving at True Way Church of God in Christ in Newark, later as a founding member and worship leader at The Glory Center Church in Columbus, and most recently under Pastor Darren Thomas at Rebirth Christian Center.
Tamika was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Tanner Jr., her father, Russell T. Baytops, and her grandmother, Elder Bertha Mae White. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Marilyn Baytops; sisters, Myesha Baytops and Tayauna Baytops-Moore; nephews, Juddah and Joshua Bates; niece, Jah-Nai Bates; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Her kind spirit, loving heart, and legacy of faith and service will live on in all who knew her.
