Ruby Lorena Reynolds

Ruby Lorena Reynolds, was born on December 23, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio at Grant Hospital to John and Wylene Stephens.

Ruby Reynolds received her Diploma, then received her Associates Degree from Columbus State Community College in Mental Health, Chemical Dependency, and Mental Retardation. She also graduated from Capital University with a Bachelor of Social Work.  Ruby worked as a Resident Manager and Case Manager for Amethyst a Substance Abuse Program for Women and their children. She dedicated her life to helping others regain the skills to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Ruby touched a lot of women’s lives along their journey of recovery.

On January 21, 2022, Ruby Lorena Reynolds, age 66, went home to be with the Heavenly Father. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Wylene Stephens; husband, Eugene Reynolds; brother, Tommy Stephens; sister, Phyllis Stephens; and a host of other relatives.

Ruby leaves to cherish her loving memories by her children, Louis Sowell Jr., Ashlee (Robert Tucker) Stephens, Mareyo Reynolds, Miesha and Pia Thorpe; special daughters, Grace Patton and Temia Wilson; siblings, Dorothy Thorpe, Fontella Smith; special sister, Adele Johnson- Moore; special brother, William Thorpe; a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; grandchildren, Joshua( Jasmine ) Stephens, Jaquan Stephens, Marquan Reynolds Aaliyah Stephens, Ashawnte Brooks, Jayden Stephens, Markhi Reynolds; a host of great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Leandrea Stephens, Nicole Jackson, Lynetta ( Clark) Stonewall, Rhonda Howard, Tommie Jr., Keohn (Shayla), Brandon(Carmen), Antoine Stephens, and William “BJ” Thorpe; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  A special tribute to the Southside Ladies.

Home-going Celebration will be held 10AM Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Greater Ebenezer Cathedral Of Praise Church, 2645 Fairwood Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43207. Family will receive friends 9AM until time of service.
