Rebecca L Mitchell

  Rebecca Mitchell, age 79, was called home on January 9, 2025. Rebecca, “Becky” was born in San Diego, California. May 11, 1945 to the union of Vandergriff “Vim” E. and Lillian Mae (Frey) Mitchell.   Becky was the only child born to VanderGriff “Vim” & Lillian and was their pride & joy.  

Becky was proceeded in death by: Dad VanderGriff “Vim” Mitchell, Mother Lillian Mitchell. Grandmother Janice Frey; Aunts: Julia (Ward)Mendenhall; Peggy (Ralph) Miller; Reida (Vernon) Fields; Norma (Richard) Jackson;

 She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her memories; aunt, Dorothy Walls, cousin, Peggy Hardiman.   A host of other relatives and friends. 
  A life well lived yet, still gone too soon.  The world was a better place because of her.   Her absence is felt deeply… the impact she made on each of us will forever live on.  .

  Home-Going Celebration 11AM Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Higher Grounds AAA Church, 870 St Clair Ave.  Family will friends 10AM until time of service.  Arrangements entrusted to SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio., 614-444-1463
