Phyllis Holliman Obituary

Phyllis Jane Holliman was ushered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 3, 2022.
Phyllis was born on January 23, 1948 to Labartow and Mattie Lou Porter. She graduated from East High School. Phyllis worked for Mount Carmel Medical Center for 33 years.

During her time of employment there, she was a PCA and was promoted to an EKG/Stress Test Technician until she retired in September of 2007.
Phyllis enjoyed reading, her soaps, movies, cooking and her oldie but goodie music. She was the greatest hostess of the Cookouts, Parties, Family Gatherings she would have at her home. Phyllis love giving great advice and she was the one all of our friends and family love talking to. Phyllis was a straight shooter. She said what she means and meant what she said!

Phyllis was affectionately known as “Feisty Phil! She demanded respect and was not the one to play with! Phyllis loved her family and friends as well.

Phyllis accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior. She was at peace with God; and was ready to be with the Lord.

She fought a good fight, but now she is resting in peace with her beloved husband Joseph J. H. Holliman, Jr. to whom she loved so much during their 45 years together.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her Parents, her sisters; Peggy Hendrix, Betty Redman, Lily Porter, and Vickie Porter; Husband Joseph J. H. Holliman, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory; son, Joseph III, daughters, Phyllis Nicol, Monique Michell, grandson; Evan Joseph, sister, Janice Porter.

Special Friends; Grace Graham of California, Hershel Grant and Dr. Kevin Hackett of Columbus, Ohio. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I’ve lived this life; I loved you all. I did all that I could do.
I’m resting now, in peace with the Lord,
But my spirit shall always be with you.
The love I had for each of you, even death can’t take it apart.

For I took that love along with me.
Embedded in my heart.

Don’t worry about me, because I’m resting now.
Just forever stand by each other’s side.
Remember the Lord and praise His name
He will always be your guide.
