Mark Geoffrey Nixon

Mark Geoffrey Nixon, “Blu” uniquely known for his beautiful and unique blue eyes, departed this life into his eternal rest on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Mark born on May 4, 1960, in Columbus, OH, the ninth (last) child and seventh son to the late William Leo Nixon Sr. and Mildred Lee (Porter) Nixon. Mark lived a fulfilling life of 62 years.
Mark was raised and grew up in a Christian home. He attended Mt. Vernon Church of Christ, which later moved to Cleveland Avenue. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was actively involved in the youth group, participated in the worship services and other church activities. Mark was educated in the Columbus City School District. He attended Pilgrim Elementary, Champion
Junior High and graduated from East High School in in 1978. During his school years he played basketball and made many life-time friends. Mark furthered his education and attended Northeastern Christian Junior College in Villanova, PA. Mark met the love of his life, Marilyn while attending East High School. He and Marilyn started to date in 1987. On December 26, 2002, Marilyn and Mark tied the knot. They were married for 19 years. Mark worked for Franklin County Children Services, Columbus, OH. He worked with youth and young adults where he provided support, life learning skills and encouragement to their lives. He left a positive mark in their lives. Mark enjoyed his job and had excellent work ethics; therefore, he never missed a
day. Mark received numerous recognitions for his service and “perfect attendance. He retired from Franklin County Children Services in 1992. Mark enjoyed spending time with his families; Wife, Marilyn; Son, Scott Curry Sr.; Daughter-in-law, Jacole; Grandchildren, Scott Jr., and Jackie and his Nixon (Siblings). He also enjoyed Family Sunday dinners and other family gatherings. Mark was a fun-loving person and had a cheerful and giving heart. His hobbies included going to the library, community festivals and the Circleville, OH Pumpkin show.

Mark is preceded in death by Parents; William Leo Nixon Sr., Mildred Lee (Porter) Nixon; Brothers, Paul Eugene Nixon, Stephen Van Nixon; Best friend, Robert Berry and Brother-in Law, Walter Curry Sr.
Mark leaves to cherish his memory to Wife; Marilyn Nixon; Son, Scott (Jacole) Curry Sr.; Grandchildren, Scott Curry Jr. and Jaclyn-Marie Curry; Brothers, William (Leah) Nixon Jr., Raymond Nixon, David Nixon, Philip (Denise) Nixon Sr.; Sisters, Linda (Johnnie) Johnson and Sharon (Robert) Hampton; Aunts, Ruth
(Nixon) Haslett, Josephine (Nixon) Harris and Patricia (Porter) Wess; Special Friend, Tony McNair; Neighbor, Dennis and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, other family members and friends
