Margaret Ann Bishop-Nalley
August 7, 1943 – February 13, 2026
Margaret Ann Bishop-Nalley, 82, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2026. Born on August 7, 1943, in Beckley, West Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Rosa Nalley.
Margaret was a woman of strength, compassion, and quiet resilience. After graduating from high school, she pursued a degree in nursing and devoted her life to caring for others. She served faithfully in both hospital and private nursing settings until sustaining a work-related injury in 1989. Among her many professional roles, she found her greatest fulfillment in private duty nursing, where she was able to provide personalized, heartfelt care to those in need.
Margaret was united in marriage to the late John Bishop and later to the late Harold Overall. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: JoAnn (Charles Jordan) Bishop of Columbus; John (Michelle) Bishop of Steubenville; Michael (Zenida) Bishop of Orlando, Florida; and her adopted daughter, Nicole Bagley of Columbus. She is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Shine of North Carolina.
Margaret’s legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever treasure her love and guidance.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Cora Allen, Clinton Nalley, Charles Nalley, Elizabeth Nalley, and Marcella Berry; her grandchildren Jacquelyn Bishop, Rolland Bishop, James Bishop; and her great-grandson Amir Dickerson.
A woman of many simple joys, Margaret found peace in crocheting and tending to her garden. She was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star and carried herself with grace and steadfast faith. Even as her health declined, her enduring spirit remained evident. When asked how she was feeling, she would gently respond, “I’m working with it.” Those words reflected the quiet strength and perseverance that defined her life.
Margaret was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion. Her life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and the power of a caring heart.
