Malson Kim

Malson kim 87,  peacefully transitioned Saturday, May 9, 2026. 

Malson Kim was born on January 12, 1939 in Pohang, South Korea to Lee Namchu (mother)and Kim Chunsil (father). She immigrated to the United States in 1965, where she was affectionately known by most as Miss Kim, or just Kim.

Kim is predeceased by her mother and father, sisters Hyunsook Kim and Soonhyang Kim,brother Yonghae Kim, special niece Chungcha Kim, second husband Dr. Park Changwan, and special friend Mr. Glenn McQuillen.

She is survived by daughter Celina Chatman and son Sean Chatman; grandson Travis Haag, granddaughters Mee-ae Chatman-Nelson, Kiara Chatman, and Zara Harris; nieces Chucha Kim (Chungsop) and Ashlee Junghee Kim (Ken); and great-niece Poyoung Kim and great-nephew Chinsu Kim.

Family and close friends who knew and loved "Miss Kim" may bid their earthly farewell at  SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH. Friday, May 22nd, 2026, 11am visitation; 12pm service . Interment, Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 E Main St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
