MARY JEAN HAWKINS

At the age of 93, Mary "Jean" Hawkins peacefully closed her eyes at home to be with the Lord May 30, 2024. She was one of (7) children born to the late Jesse and Matilda (Greene) Sheppard. Jean was married to the late Albert Barrett on August 10, 1950. They had four children who will cherish, remember and reflect on the life of their mother; Jesse (Andrea) Barrett, Nona Hollingsworth, Roger Barrett, and Allen Barret, all of Columbus, Ohio.  she later married the late James Hawkins.  Mary is proceeded in death  by her siblings; Samantha (Chester) Roy, Betty Wimbley, Jessie Mae (James) Smith and Richard (Ernestine) Sheppard. Siblings now living: Joyce Sheppard and Darlene Baldwin; grandchildren; Tasha Gray, Dionne Barrett, Wesley (Alisha) Barrett, JC Barrett, Serene (Mark) Robinson, Virgil (Michelle) Hollingsworth, Dr. Andre Hollingsworth, Aaron Hollingsworth, Reon Eaves, and Christopher Barrett and  16 great grandchildren. A host of   nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and bingo buddies. Home-going Services 12PM Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in the Chapel of SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio.
