Lorene (Jones) Michael

Lorene Michael, age 79, passed away on Wednesday April 21, 2021 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.  Lorene was born on February 12, 1942 in Elba, AL to K.C. and Minnie Dell Jones. 

She relocated to Columbus, OH in 1952.  She was a graduate from East High School.  Lorene worked for the State of Ohio.  She also worked for a physician’s office and later employed at Ochsendorf Promotions.  Lorene was lovingly known for the annual brunch she hosted for family and friends for over 30 years.

Lorene loved cooking, traveling, camping and was an avid bowler.  She was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan which made her known to many as “Ms. Alabama”.  She was famous for her delicious homemade jelly that she gave to family each year as Christmas gifts.  Lorene had a beautiful spirit, never complained no matter what she may have been going through and was dearly loved by all who knew her.  She was a faithful long-time member of Corpus Christi Church.

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, K.C. and Minnie Dell Jones; brother, John J. Jones; daughter, Lori D. Michael and grandson, Ronald Bryant.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband Earnest J. Michael of 57 years; son Anthony (Robin) Michael; sister, Glady L. Brown; two brothers-in-law, Richard Michael, Ali (Gail) Michael; sister-in-law, Charline Robinson; 5 grandchildren; Katina Wilson, Courtney Armstrong, Martez Bryant, Courtlyn Armstrong, Calvin Miller, 3 great grandchildren; Aaron Ellis, Major Wilson, and Jaleah Wilson.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many dear friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation 10AM and Mass of Christian Burial  11AM  Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Corpus Christi Church, 1111 Stewart Ave, Columbus, Ohio.  Interment, Forest lawn Cemetery.   Service for Lorene Michael will be live Streamed on Corpus Christi Church's Facebook Page.
