Lizzie Mixon-Bozeman Obituary

Lizzie Mae Mixon-Bozeman was born on December 21,1951, in Jefferson, Alabama to Alzie Gaston and Inez Pinkston. She was 1 of 10 children. 

Lizzie attended Northwestern High School in Detroit Michigan and later attended a Technical Institution. She moved to Columbus, Ohio where she married Richard Ollie Bozeman Sr. on June 27, 1980, from this union came 5 children. 

Lizzie was raised in a Christian home where she loved God. She transitioned to Jehovah's witness then back to her Christian faith and attended Jerusalem Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Lizzie later moved her membership to New Calvary Holiness Church where she continued as Evangelist Mixon-Bozeman and served on the minister’s board and president of the hospitality committee. She loved God and made sure she let you know who he is.

She retired from Toledo Scales Company, after serving over 20 years as an Electronic Inspector. After retirement, she held jobs in many different careers and businesses. She was an advocate for Children Services  where she even opened her own childcare company, Raspberry Childcare Service.  Lizzie served as a mother figure to many people. She resided in Brittany Hills majority of her life, where she was known amongst many in the neighborhood. Lizzie never turned any child away; she was the real definition of no child left behind and loved everyone as her own.

Lizzie loved fashion and currently was employed at Rainbows Shopping Center. If you were hungry, she was going to feed you. She loved cooking grilling was her specialty. She enjoyed making everyone laugh. Lizzie touched the lives of many people. Her favorite humorous line was “don't run out of toilet paper cause if you do, you're in trouble”

Shortly after celebrating 70 wonderful years, Lizzie Mae Mixon-Bozeman, was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning of December 22, 2021. She is preceded in death by her ex-husband; Richard Bozeman Sr.; father, Alzie Gaston; brothers, Levi Jr., Larry Pinkston, and Eugene Pinkston; sister, Marion Pinkston.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Inez Pinkston; children, Jonathan Bozeman, Tiffany Bozeman, Jermaine Bozeman, Stephanie Bozeman, and Arnez Bozeman; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; siblings, Frankie Mixon, Juanita Pinkston, Fredrick Pinkston, Roderick Pinkston, and Charles Pinkston; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Home-going Celebration will be held 12PM Saturday, January 8,2022 at Jerusalem Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 827 E. Maynard Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43211. Family will receive friends 11AM until time of service. Arrangements entrusted to SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43227, M.L. Smoot, Director, 614-444-1GOD(463). MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
