Leila B. Conner, age 83, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 24,2024. Leila was born in Marengo County, Alabama on April 2, 1941, to the late
Fannie L. Williams. She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church. Leila was a 1960 graduate of Perry County High School and shortly
after graduation relocated to Columbus, Ohio. After moving to Columbus, Ohio she became a member of Union Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Emeritus Reverend Phale D. Hale and later Reverend Dr. Henry L. Johnson III where she was a member for over 48 years and served the Lord faithfully through her tithes and offering as well as serving as a member of the usher board until she became ill and unable to attend. Leila was also employed by the State of Ohio Health Department in the office of Vital Statistics and retired after 30 years of service.
 

Leila was preceded in death by mother, Fannie Lee Williams and stepfather, Clarence Williams; grandparents, Johnnie and Mary G. Taylor; sister, Delois Williams; sister-in-law,
Christine Willilams; uncles, Willie Taylor and Johnnie Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers Clarence Williams, Jr and Anderson Williams; sisters Dorothy Williams and Linda Williams; aunt, Rosie Taylor; cousins
Josephine Wood, Barbara (Marvin) Neal, Rosemary Taylor and Johnnie (Cathy) Taylor, Jr: a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and
nephews and cousins. A special thank you to the OSU James Cancer Hospital and Hospice Care for your care and support during Leila’s transition from labor to reward.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Monday, November 11,2024 at 12PM in the Chapel of Smoot Funeral Services, 4019 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio. Family will
receive friends 11AM until time of service. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery.
