Larry Dozier

Larry Dozier was born to the Union of Gus Dozier and Emma M. Armstead on June 11 1959 in Cleveland Ohio. 

Larry gave his life to Christ at an early age through a Faithful and Prayerful family. He was a graduate of Shaw High School in East Cleveland and a Certified Truck Driver. Larry worked all his life and was a hard worker and very dependable. He was an entrepreneur first of his business being a power washing business and embarked on all opportunities for developing and starting a new business and learning different trades that presented itself. There wasn’t a trade Larry was not equipped for.  Larry was very smart and educated in the field of Industrial equipment and knew how to operate all the machinery.

Larry was an adventurous person and an avid lover of old school music, he loved to dance. In his younger days he frequented comedy shows and he and his friends would often entertain the audience. Larry never failed that when he met a young kid, he would always shake their hands and say glad to meet you, he was fun to be around and always left you with memorable moments.

Larry Dozier departed this earthly life on January 8 2022. He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma M Dozier; father, Gus Dozier; sister, Jeanette Trammer; and his brother, Elliot Dozier. He leaves to cherish his memory by his loving wife of 18 years, Faye Dozier; sons, Larry (Day Day) Taylor and Abdur Siddiq; sisters, Ann Avery, Irene Bradley, Dorothy (Edward) Quinones and Vanessa Dozier; brothers, David (Shelly) Bradley, Kenneth (Tonya) Dozier; 6 Grandchildren; 5 sister in laws; 4 brother in laws; and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Home-going Celebration will be held 10AM Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the Chapel of SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43227. Family will receive friends 9AM until time of service. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43219. M.L.
