Lander Henderson

Lander Carlos Henderson, Sr, age 68  was called  home May 8, 2024. He was  born in Pearisburg, Virginia on August 14, 1955. He, along with his mother and siblings moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1968. He was the jokester that loved  his family and helping his neighbors.  He drove trucks, fished and kept his yard well landscaped. As well as, knowing how to have a good ole’ time. 
Lander was an avid fan of the Greenbay Packers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.  His daughter is always going to remember phones calls during football season every Thursday, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays saying, “Hey Kizzy, I know you’re watching” or “you got your game face on, who you got?”.
Lander is survived by his two children, Lander Henderson, Jr and LaKisha (LaMarr I) Barnes.  Four grandchildren, LaMarr Barnes II, LaKasia Barnes, LaKaiah Barnes and Gabrielle Burton.  Lastly, two great grandchildren, LaMiya Barnes and MyLiya Barnes. 
Also, survived by siblings Steven Henderson, Rhonda Williams, DeWayne Henderson, Alisa Wilson and Bryant Henderson.  Last surviving Aunt, Shirley Hoston. 
Former wife and mother of his children, Deborah (or ‘Jean’ as he called her) Henderson.
Best friends since childhood, Michael Green.
Preceded in death by parents Lavell Smith and Juanita Henderson.  Grandmother, Fannie (Harry) Henderson.  Brother, Michael Henderson.  Aunts, Joann (Mason) Smith and Lue (Nathanial) Nelson. Uncles, Bill (Mae) Marion, Cassell Hoston.   Nephews, Billie Williams, Dominic Williams and Donavon Williams. With lots of love from a family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Life Celebration 10AM Saturday, May 18, 2024 in the Chapel of SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio.  Family will receive friends 9AM until time of service.  Interment, Eastlawn Cemetery.  MLSmoot, Director, 614-444-1463
