Joyce Elaine Hall (‘Lois’ as she was called by her family and hometown friends), was born January 18, 1952, to Mr. & Mrs. Emmett J. (Hattie) Browder Jr.  in Clanton, AL. Joyce made her transition early Sunday morning June 20, 2021, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Columbus, OH.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Orlando Cepada Cummings, her brother James Earl and sister Glenda Marie Smith. She was educated in the Chilton County Public School System. 

Evangelist Hall loved missionary work, especially focusing on senior citizens and the homeless. She was an active participant of the Bible Study group at Poindexter Place. She loved all styles of music and had a beautiful voice. She often could be found singing gospel songs, hymns of faith and contemporary love ballads.  She was a close friend and colleague of the late great singer Linda Jones, often accompanying her vocally in singing engagements throughout the Midwest. She was employed by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services as a home childcare provider.

She is survived by two daughters Peactrial Browder and Hope-Elizabeth Richardson, one son Norval Cummings all of Columbus; five granddaughters Tiffany Browder, Tanequa Browder, Nadia Craine, Jazmine Cummings, Jayla Richardson and two grandsons Keywaun Abbington and Jayden Kenty; nine great-grandchildren Daionya Bussey, Danyell Bussey, Aniya Atchley, Skyler Craine, Bliss Craine, Cairo Craine and Ava’lynn Turner, Daniel Bussey Jr., Lee Atchley Jr.; three sisters Barbara Smith of Pickerington, Patricia Browder of Mooresville NC and Sandra Browder of Columbus; three brothers Alvin Browder of Montgomery AL; Earnest (Delores) Browder and Napoleon Browder of Columbus; three aunts Gladys Turpin of Birmingham AL, Ruth (Ezell) Trice of Las Vegas NV, Kay Frances Booker of Springhill MA;  two uncles Gene Browder of Verbena AL and Norman Browder of Atlanta GA; Special Cousin Robert Roller and Rochelle Dillard.  Special Friends Bishop Fred L. and Evangelist Mollie Marshall, Bishop Nathaniel Jordan, Minister Colleen Campbell, Brenda Wilson, and a host of relatives and friends.

Life Celebration 12 Noon Monday, June 28, 2021 at Symrna Baptist Church, 1650 Wilson Ave., Columbus, Ohio. Family will receive friends 11AM until time of service.
