Jared Allen McNeal was born May 30, 1953 to Carolyn and Floyd McNeal. He attended the Detroit Public Schools: Sill & Ellis Elementary, Condon Jr. High School and Western High School. He played football in high school and graduated from Western in 1971. As a child and young man in Detroit, Jared volunteered and helped people in the neighborhood. Jared was the life of the party and had many friends. After graduation Jared enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served at Rickenbacker Air Force base. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force he moved to Ohio and enrolled at CIT, formerly (Columbus State Community College) where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. In 1977 Jared enlisted in the Army National Guard in Ohio until his honorable discharge in May of 2001.
After his service to his country he went on to work at the Defense Supply Center for the federal government. He retired in 2014 after working for 30 years.
Jared leaves behind to celebrate his life: His children; Christopher Enoch and Cecilee Erin Carolina Marnice McNeal. Grandchildren; A’marie, Zi’onna, Mai’lani and Isabella. His longtime companion Linda Patterson, Sisters; Rosemary Adams, Valerie Powell and Victoria Miller. Brothers; Anthony McNeal, Bennie Powell, David Powell, Vernell McNeal. Brother-in-laws; Ronald Moore and Eddie Miller. Sister-in-law; Paula Powell. Nieces; Ivy Miller and Yolanda Girouard. Nephews; Darryl Flood, Damien McNeal and Michael McNeal. Great Nieces; Genevieve, Kali, Maliyah, Autumn and Karly. Great Nephews; Alexander, Kaelin, Kolby and Little Michael.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Carolyn Powell, step father, Bennie Powell, father Floyd McNeal, Grandmother, Violet M. Bromery, Great grandmother Carolina Fields, Great grandfather, James C. Fields and Ex. Wife Sylvia Caye.
