James Charles Davis Jr., affectionately known as “Cadiz Cool,” was born on May 14, 1939, and peacefully passed away on January 27, 2026.
James proudly served his country as a United States Air Force veteran and later retired from UPS, where he worked as a truck driver. His career reflected his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication—qualities that defined both his professional life and the way he showed up for his family.
A devoted father, James deeply loved his family and took great pride in those closest to him. Known for his calm presence and quiet confidence, he earned the nickname “Cadiz Cool” for good reason. He was also a loyal Cleveland Browns fan, supporting his team with unwavering enthusiasm.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate James’s life on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Smoot Funeral Services Chapel.
Visitation: 11:00 AM
Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon
Interment will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
James will be remembered for his devotion to family, his honorable service to his country, his years of dedicated work, and the steady, dependable presence he brought to all who knew him.
