Howard H Amison

Howard H. “Stick John” Amison age 61, transitioned to his heavenly home Sunday, December 3, 2023. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio on December 17,1961 to the late Estell Amison Sr. and Ida Lee Amison. Howard attended Sandusky High School and participated on the track team. Howard worked various jobs from landscaping to handyman work. Howard love old western movies, sports, and most of all he loved to eat!!  He loved his family.  He gave all his nieces and nephews a nickname. It became a family tradition for“Uncle Howard” to give each new member a nickname. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Estell Amison Sr. and Ida Lee Amison;  four sisters, Christene Amison-Smith, Allene Jeanette Amison, Darlene (Lynne) Amison, and Mable Amison. Two brothers, Samuel Lee Amison and Deacon Estell Amison Jr.

Howard leaves to cherish his memory life-partner, Leona Womack; brothers, Clinton Amison, of Columbus, Ohio, and Joseph (Laura) Amison of Hopewell,Virginia;s isters, Georgia, Nancy, Donnie (Dee Dee) Amison all of Columbus,Ohio, Carrie Rhone of Prince George, VA; brother-in-law, Harold D. Smith of Sandusky Ohio. A host of nieces, nephews,  other relatives and friends.

  Home-going Celebration 3PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 in the Chapel of SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH. Family will receive friends 2PM until time of service. Marcia T Smoot, Funeral Director, 614-444-1463.
