Herman Shelton Pittman

Herman S. Pittman Jr. (Co-Chief), 70, of Columbus, Ohio departed this life on earth to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1954 in Chester, Pennsylvania from the union of Herman Pittman, Sr. and Cornelia (James) Barker. Herman attended East High School, Columbus City Schools and worked as a maintenance worker in Columbus, Ohio. He worked well with his hands and was able to fix multiple things. He also enjoyed being around family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents: Herman Pittman, Sr. and Cornelia (James)Barker, sisters: Connie Collins and Norma Newkirk, brothers: Kenneth Pittman and Otis Pittman, son: Herman Pittman III.

Survived by daughter: Alecia Pittman, sister: Bernadette Nutter, brothers:]Marshall James, Lester (Coralean) Pittman,  Michael (Denise) Pittman,  grandchildren: Tazkiyahj Hopkins, Zakariyyah Pittman, Kolton Hardy, Kyng Hardy and Keith Hardy; special nephew, Charles Newkirk, Jr; , bonus son: Charles (Kern) Hardy; former wife and best friend, Edith Williams and sons: Roy Hemsley and William Skelton. Many  aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

.  Life Celebration 12PM Thursday, June 12, 2025 at SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio. Family will receive friends 11AM until time of service.
