Henrietta Barker

Henrietta Barker, lovingly known as “Big Momma” or “Granny,” was born in Rome, Georgia on Monday, February 5, 1923. She was the oldest child of Senna Brown Jones and Harold Jones. . All in the same second if you were in need, she would give you the world without judgement. Before you left her presence, she would tell you to “Say Your Prayers.” On Saturday, February 27, 2021, God called Henrietta to glory. He added another beautiful flower to His Heavenly Bouquet. Her wishes were honoby family to be home. God answered her family’s prayers and she went on to the Pearly Gates in her sleep. She was 98 years of age. In addition to her parents, Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Barker; son, Roger L. Teasley; daughters, Phyllis Teasley Owensby, Brenda Teasley, and Constance “Connie” Teasley; brother, Harold Jones; and inlaw (Balous, Frank, Jack, Lonnie, Hazel L. Mary L., Ida M., Margrett Steward) Celebrating her life and legacy are her daughter, Ella “Louise” Teasley Glasco; sons, Myrode “Terry,” Bernard “Bernie,” and Bryant “Keith,” Barker; Joseph Steward, Tariq Bey, and Terry Teasley; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great “Grannies” of whom she loved for that all belong to her. Henrietta is also survived by special cousin, Mary Anna Brown of Chicago, Illinois; adopted children, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Life Celebration  11AM Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Chapel of SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E. Livingston Ave. Family will receive friends 10AM until time of service.  Interment, Eastlawn Cemetery, 1340 Woodland Ave., Columbus, Ohio  43219
