Harold Dean Mackey

Harold Dean Mackey, also known as, (Bubbie), a lifelong resident of Columbus, OH, left us unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 65.
Harold is survived by his siblings; his sister, Evon Mackey; his brother, Richard Mackey (Spouse Deanna); his sister, Linda Smith; and his sister, twin, and caregiver, Carol Rollins Mackey.
He is predeceased by his Parents, Bishop Henry R. Mackey & Elder Nellie R. Mackey; his brother, Lawrence H. Mackey; his brother, Charles E. Mackey (deceased 9/7/24); his brother, Edwin L. Mackey (Eddie), and His Brother, Jeremy Roby Mackey. Harold was born in Buffalo, NY, on October 21, 1958, along with his twin sister, Carol, to Henry R. Mackey and Nellie R. Brevard.
Although born with challenges, Harold was brilliant, strong, and full of joy & he was loved by his family and closely taken care of by his twin sister, dedicated caregiver, and various community partners. Harold enjoyed running and being outdoors. His favorite foods were fried chicken, potato chips, kool aid, and soda.
Harold loved spending time with his twin so much, that he would be upset and fight the staff whenever it would be time for Carol to leave.

He spent his final months at the Heinzerling Developmental Center in Columbus, where he was well cared for. We would like to thank the staff at all the places that took good care of Bubbie.
