In loving memory of Gwendolyn "Gwen" Williams, a timeless soul who gracefully completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, amidst the embrace of her cherished family at Grant Medical Center. Born in the quaint town of Lavaca, Alabama, on January 7, 1948, life unfolded like a cherished tale of faith, devotion, and love. In the tender embrace of eternity, Gwen Williams reunites with beloved souls who preceded her: life partner, James McKinnon; her dear son, Alan "Mushy" Lassiter; her loving parents, James and Thelma Turner; her cherished sister, Betty Turner; and her esteemed brothers, James and Duwayne Turner, alongside her niece, Kyana Early, and great nephew Jaylen Belcher. Their spirits now dwell in peace, a beacon of comfort amidst the heavens. Gwen's spirit lives on in the hearts of those she held most dear. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mia McKinnon, her beloved son, Henry Miller, and God-daughter Kearston Crenshaw. Their lives are illuminated by the enduring love and wisdom she imparted upon them. Her grandchildren, Michael Lassiter, Erica (Steven) Brown, Denzel (Charday) Lassiter Sr., and Alana Lassiter, carry forward the light of her legacy with pride and love. And her great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Lassiter, Denzel Lassiter Jr., Landon "Bud" Stone, Gabrielle Lassiter, and Ava Faseun, shall forever be adorned with the blessings of her nurturing spirit. In the tapestry of Gwen's life, family was the cornerstone of her joy. She leaves behind a special aunt Patsy Trent and a treasure trove of siblings, each bound by the unbreakable bond of love: Novella (Darrell) Lynch, Pamela Crumpler, Saundra Byrd, Jonathan (Shelly) Turner, and the devoted caregiver Juanita (Anthony) Woodard. Together, they stand as a testament to the enduring strength of familial love and unity. Best friends: Joyce Watson and Linda Williams.
