Frankie Mae Brown sadly passed away on September 2, 2022. She was a wonderful mother ,grandmother, and great grandmother, who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Columbus, OH. She alongside her husband, Austin Brown Sr., were quite the entrepreneurs. They owned and operated the first black owned gas station in Columbus. After selling their gas station, they went on to own and operate their bar formerly know as, Club Tropicana.
Anyone who knew Frankie, knew that she loved children. She began working in early childhood education at CMACO and then eventually Head Start until 2016.
She was predeceased by her father Handy Frank Jackson, mother Jurther (Ruby) Jackson, husband, Austin Brown Sr., and her sons Austin Brown Jr. & Anthony Brown. She is survived by her son Andre Brown, daughter Aimee Turner, granddaughters Alexandria Brown and Amaya(Theophilus) Woodley, grandsons Ashon Turner, Austin Brown, Andrew Brown, Aaron Brown, and great-grandsons Theophilus Linwood Woodley Jr. and Hendrix Peterson.
Home-going Celebration 11AM Friday, September 16, 2022 at Bible -Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 453 S Wheatland Ave., Columbus, Ohio. Family will receive friends 10AM until time of service.
