Esther Virginia Swanson

Esther V. Hopson Swanson, 91, departed this life on June 14, 2021. She was born on August 17, 1929, in York County, Virginia. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Marion (Anthony) Hopson, her sisters, Myrtle Montgomery and Marian Wilson and her son, Frederick Swanson, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Frederick Swanson, Sr.; daughters Lisa Reaves and Tracy Swanson; stepdaughters, Alethia (Russell) Garrett and Gloria (Roderick) Frazier; granddaughters, Erica Reaves and Leah Jennings; brother-in-law, Carroll Swanson; step-grandchildren, other relatives, close friends, and caregivers. The family will celebrate Esther’s life on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Smoot Funeral Services, 4019 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43227. Masks are required to enter the facility. Visitation hours will be held from 1 - 2 pm and the memorial service will begin at 2 pm.
