Edward William Ramzy, affectionately known as “Dubb” or “EW” was born on February 13, 1979, in La Cruses, New Mexico to Katherine J. Bell and Robert Ramzy. He later moved to Columbus, Ohio with his mother and brother, Corey Chapman.
Dubb was raised on the Southside of Columbus, Ohio, where he made many lifelong friends and was loved by many people in the neighborhood. He graduated from South High School. After graduating from South, Dub took classes at Columbus State and Hocking College, having many hopes, dreams, and goals for his life.
He was an extremely dedicated hard worker, who took pride into his work, making sure he was able to provide and give his family the life they deserved. Dubb took extreme pride in his good looks, making sure he was always dressed nice. He was a ladies’ man and a foodie. In his spare time, Edward loved traveling, trying new food places, and helping the people he cared for.
Dubb touched everybody’s lives, he made it a point to make all those he encountered feel so important and special. Edward was very big on loyalty, especially when it came to his family. He would show up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, would defend and stand up for his loved ones should the need for it arise, making sure he kept everybody safe.
Edward was a loving and generous friend and family member, who was passionate and committed to being a great father to his children, Keshae Trotter, Chardae Ramzy, Emanual Ramzy, Elijah Ramzy, Isiah Ramzy and his bonus daughter Cherish Ramzy, who all adored and looked up to him.
He had a sudden and unexpected aneurysm and stroke that lead him into a 6-month coma. On October 17, 2021, Edward was called home to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ernestine Chapman; grandfather, Edward Chapman; uncles, Mark Chapman and Jermaine Hunter. He is survived by his mother, Katherine J. Bell; brothers; sisters; children; grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Even though Edward “Dubb” was taken too soon, he lived a meaningful life surrounded by people who adored him. His death has left all his family, friends and all that had the blessing of knowing him in absolute turmoil.
