Darrell Taylor was born on March 22, 1984 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a man of integrity with a warm and friendly personality that made him well loved and respected by his family and friends. On April 5th, 2021 he passed away peacefully at a hospital in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Mahala and his mother Alfredia at his side.Darrell first met Mahala in 2007, they were married on September 25, 2010. Darrell and Mahala built their lives around their family of three children. Makayla, born 2003, Darrell Jr. “DJ” born 2006, and Evalyn born 2014.
He was known to Makalya, DJ, and Evalyn as their dedicated father who would always find time to spend with them. He was known to his friends as someone that people would gravitate toward. Whether on the field of a flag football match, on the road with the Solo Rollers, or working at Digico Imaging, he brought people together. Darrell would often drop anything he was doing to help his friends and family. Throughout his life his actions showed how he valued serving others without the need or desire for recognition or praise. May his life remind us to treat people with the same integrity and respect that he exemplified.
Darrell Taylor is survived by his wife Mahala Taylor; children, Makayla Taylor, DJ Taylor, and Evalyn Taylor; mother, Alfredia Weston; and siblings, Jacqueline Stewart and (Marvin) Stewart, Jay Taylor, and Lueco Allen; aunts Voncile and Regina; and uncles Andrew (Debbie), Herschel (Kay), Steven (Teresa); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jonathan Taylor and daughter Hailey Taylor.
