Charles R Davis

  Charles Robert Davis, 69, of Pickerington, Ohio, was born on January 11, 1957, to the late Sterling Davis and Lois Anderson. He peacefully departed this life on  March 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories. Charles graduated from East High School in 1975, where his passion for music first flourished. Music became an important part of his life and identity. Over the years, he was a member of several local bands, including Stash and Black Ice, sharing his talent and love for music with audiences throughout the community. Later, he proudly co-founded the band Phirst Choice with his beloved wife, Deborah, continuing to pursue the passion that brought him so much joy. Charles had a bigger-than-life love for his family and friends. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Deborah, and everyone who knew Charles knew one thing for certain he loved his wife. Their bond was one of devotion, friendship, and deep affection, and they shared 26 wonderful years of marriage together. Charles was a loving father whose greatest pride was his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Brandon (Raechel) Scott; Latisha (Dr. Carl) Chastang; Tiffany Mitchell; and Chrisphor (Martina) Mitchell, all of Columbus. He is also survived by his sister, Tammy(Curtis) Atondira-Stewart.

Charles’ legacy continues through his eight grandchildren, Naeem, Naomi, Cameron, Danielle, Malik, Makayla, Christina, and Christiana who brought him immense joy and pride. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure his love, wisdom, and guidance.

Those who knew Charles will remember his warm spirit, his love of music, and the way he embraced family and friendship with his whole heart. Though he is no longer with us in body,  the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
 

Home-Going Celebration  11AM Saturday, March 14, 2026 at The Word of God In Christ Church, 115 Wilson Ave., Columbus, Ohio.  Family will receive friends 10AM until time of service.
