Bessie Fene Sanders

Bessie Fene Sanders was born August 12, 1939 in Crawford County, GA and went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021 at the age of 82.  She moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1955 and met Clyde Sanders and together they raised  8 loving children. Bessie was a Mom to many and loved by all who knew her. She was very giving and very often hosted Sunday dinner at her home for anyone who wanted to fellowship or just wanted a bite to eat. She work for many years in the Hospitality Industry before retiring after about 40 years. She loved to cook, listen to Gospel music, spend time with family, friends and especially her Grandchildren. She was a true Georgia Peach in every sense of the word! The absolute Sweetest person you could ever meet! Bessie was preceded in death by her father Elbert Lockett, Mother Bessie Maude Houston, husband Clyde Sanders, brothers John Lee Lockett, and Henry Lee Lockett (Dorothy), Daughters Lois (Clarence) Harris, Diane Nix, and Angela Sanders. She is Survived by her brother L C Lockett (Lucille) of Roberta GA, Sister Sadie Kemper of Columbus Ohio, Sisters in Law Susie Mae Goddard of Atlanta GA, Geraldine Moseley (Frank) of White Sulphur Springs, W VA her Children Willie (Rochelle) Lockett, Sgt Tyrone Nix, Daniel Nix, Geri Sanders, and Andre Sanders. 10 Grandchildren including Special Grand daughters Kiara Sanders and Clarissa Harris, several Great grandchildren and a host of loving Nieces and Nephews, cousins other relatives and dear friends. Special Aunt Mary Davis of Musella GA,  Special friend and Neighbor Amelia Jones and Carol Parker Carter. Mom as she was know by many will be Truly missed but we have comfort knowing that we have another Beautiful Angel watching over us. 

Life Celebration 12PM Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 3420 Petzinger Rd., Columbus, Ohio, 43232. Family will receive friends 11AM until  time of service.  Interment, Evergreen Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E.
