Barrington Gayle

Barrington Gayle, known as Bob, was a beloved individual who passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and was a resident of Columbus, Ohio. Despite battling cancer for 20 years, he fought a good fight until the Lord called him home.

Bob was a devoted father to eight children, Karen, Natalie, Shawn, Marvin, Ricardo, Tashmar, Tashema, and Kiera. He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his brother Eugene and sister Beverly, Marie, Christine, Diane, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bob was an active member of Eagle Rock Church of Pickerington, Ohio, where he served as an usher for seven years and volunteered in various departments. He was particularly fond of Psalm 91 and 121.

Bob was known for his hospitality, generosity, and love for cooking. He was always welcoming and offering a home away from home to others. He would often cook for church events, family gatherings, and others in need. He was famous for his Jerk Chicken and BBQ sauce, which he won first prize for at the Pickington Ribfest in 2010.

He was also a sports enthusiast who loved the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat. He admired Serena and Venus Williams and Tiger Woods. One of his fondest memories was watching Tiger Woods play at Dublin, OH on Father's Day.

Throughout his life, Bob touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and love for others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Service in his honor will be held, 11 AM Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Eagle Rock Church 6810 Blacklick-Eastern Road Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. MONDAY June 3, 2024 there will be a memorial service held at 12 Noon at Eagle Rock Church, this will be his final rites (conclusion) to Mr. Gayle's funeral services.
