Antwan Lamar Steward was born January 12, 1985, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, OH. On Monday, August 2, 2021, this loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36. A graduate of Brookhaven High School, Antwan received his bachelor’s degree from DeVry University in Technical Management, and an MBA from Ohio Dominican University.
Antwan had many interests, a few of his top ones were attending Ohio State football games (He’s been a season ticket holder since he was in elementary school) and pretty much anything related to motorcycles.
For the past 4 years Antwan has worked at Columbus City Schools as a bus driver. During his time there he has served as a bus driver trainer and as a member of the union board. He served as Treasurer of OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO for 3 years.
Antwan is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Manuel and O’dell Steward; maternal grandparents Galvester and Virginia R. Wade, and Lloyd Lipscomb.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angela Steward, his children, Nazhaya, Malik, and Kaliyah; his parents Melvin and Kimberly Steward; brothers Melvin L. Steward, Andrae (Casandra) Steward, Antonio Anderson; five nieces and one nephew; and a host of extended family and friends.
Life Celebration 12PM Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave, Columbus, Ohio, 43201. Family will receive friends 11AM until time of service. Interment, Eastlawn Cemetery, 1340 Woodland Ave.
