Admaricarte Valcin Obituary

Admaricarte Valcin (Admari) was born on September 12, 1973 in Thiotte, Haiti, by parents Marie-Clunie Gilot and Victor Pierre. She was the eldest of a family of six with two brothers and three sisters. Throughout her childhood, she excelled in all academic endeavors. First, she attended College Verrières for elementary school where she grew in popularity. She was known by all as the smart student. Then, she went on to attend Louverture Cleary for her high school years where she developed many attributes such as: being responsible, and a go- getter; which propelled her to academic success. She spent her college days at Ecole Normale Superieure d’Haiti where she studied Spanish and English as well as Law. This all contributed to her becoming a teacher at Petit Seminaire College Saint Martial once she graduated. Her journey as a teacher also included Louverture Cleary. She was one of the popular teachers in those institutions. She formed strong bonds with her students who all loved and appreciated her presence and kind words. She knew how to connect with others.

Admaricarte was one to always be known, wherever she went, as she was a social butterfly and loved to meet new people. One could simply turn a corner in Haiti and there would be somebody who knew her for the impact and positivity that she brought into people’s lives. After some time, Admaricarte went on to work at Haitel, which was a privately held mobile phone company at the time. She then transferred over to American Airlines where she worked for 10 years. She maintained her reputation as the joyful and positive person who strived to inspire others to do the same. Happiness and laughter were her remedy for life’s tricky pathways.

In 2003, Admaricarte brought her first child to life named Ann-Lory Jean Fleury and in 2009, she gave birth to her second child Giovanni Valcin. She raised her children with virtue and chastity. Throughout the years, she always spoke with conviction in whatever she taught them about life. Being a mother was no easy feat, but Admaricarte always seemed to make it as seamless as could be for her children. The anecdotes of her past were ones that she loved to recount to her kids as she reminisced and told them more about what and who impacted and cared for her. One of the many things she reinforced in her children was to never forget those that were there for them. She also taught them to give back wholeheartedly to those that helped them through life’s challenges. Her cleaning spree days are ones we will never forget. Also memorable are her ways of waking us up so we could cook together or even the idea of us just being there with her in the kitchen while she cooked and talked together. As a mother, Admaricarte was like no other; she poured her love and affection into her loved ones and everybody else she knew.

On April 23, 2012, Admaricarte married Willem Valcin whom she had been with for about 7 years prior and known for longer beforehand. The pair was a model of cooperation and commitment.

Admaricarte was a Seventh day Adventist who loved to sing songs of worship all day long. She loved to be immersed in it and listened to her favorite songs on repeat so much that they grew on us, and we now know many of those songs by heart. She also loved to pray and read verses of the bible. At times she would open the bible and wherever it landed was what we were reading and learning about. Her love for God was of great importance to her as she endeavored to learn more and more every day.

Early in 2019, Admaricarte began battling epileptic seizures, which had a great impact on her studies; they even stopped her from pursuing her academic dreams. Admaricarte, along with her husband, Willem, consulted many specialists. Finally, in 2020 they found one who provided the help she needed. Her illness took many things away from her, but never did her positivity, her love for God and pursuit for happiness faltered. Sadly, on the morning of November 17, 2021, around 6:00am to 6:50am, Admaricarte Valcin passed away due to an epileptic seizure.

She is survived by her husband Willem Valcin, her children Ann-Lory Jean Fleury and Giovanni Valcin. Her mother Marie-Clunie Gilot, her sisters Margareth Jean Baptiste, Rosaire Jean Baptiste, Farah Jean and her brothers, Mickenson Jean and Milord Jean, nephews, nieces and relatives.

As we grieve her loss, we know that her loved ones, friends and all who knew of her will carry her legacy. She lives forever in our hearts.
